Theben joins the eFIXX College Connections Programme

We’re proud to announce that Theben Automation is now part of the eFIXX College Connections Programme, supporting the next generation of electricians with hands-on smart home training and resources. The eFIXX College Connections Roadshow is designed to enrich the student learning experience and give lecturers added support. Electrical Teaching Specialist Gary Hayers visits colleges across the UK, bringing engaging sessions that expand knowledge beyond the standard curriculum. With the help of forward-thinking brand partners like Theben, each college benefits from additional learning resources and equipment to use in the classroom and workshops. LUXORliving Demo Boards for Every College As part of our commitment, we’ve created dedicated LUXORliving demo boards, expertly built by Simon Johnson. Each college taking part in the roadshow will receive a board to keep, giving students the opportunity to explore how a smart home ecosystem works in practice. The demo boards showcase: Switching and dimming functions Scene setting and central functions The principles of a scalable, KNX-based smart home system By working with real equipment, learners can see first-hand how energy-efficient, sustainable smart home solutions are designed, installed, and programmed. Inspiring the Next Generation & Building Skills for a Smarter Future At Theben, we’re passionate about educating and inspiring the electricians of tomorrow. Joining the eFIXX College Connections Programme allows us to share our knowledge and support young installers in developing the skills they’ll need to deliver future-proof, sustainable electrical installations. We’ll also be attending selected roadshow dates in person to meet students, answer questions, and encourage them to think about the opportunities available in smart building technologies. By partnering with eFIXX, we aim to help colleges equip their learners with practical skills that go beyond textbooks. With smart homes and building automation becoming mainstream, we want students to leave college ready to embrace these opportunities with confidence. We’re excited to play a part in shaping the future of the electrical industry – and can’t wait to see how the next generation of electricians will put smart, sustainable solutions into practice.

Theben Academy is Open! Our New UK Training Centre for Smart Installers

We’re proud to announce the official launch of Theben Academy, our brand-new UK training centre based at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon. Designed to help electricians, integrators, and training providers grow their skills in smart building technology, Theben Academy offers practical, hands-on training that’s tailored to the real world. From lighting control and presence detection to KNX certification, our aim is simple: to support the trade in delivering smarter, more energy-efficient solutions, and to give you the tools you need to stay competitive in a fast-evolving market. Theben Academy is an officially certified KNX Training Centre, authorised to deliver KNX Basic and Advanced courses right here in the UK. Our first KNX Basic Certification Course will take place from 10th November 2025, and places are now open for booking. “We’re proud to bring certified KNX training to the UK market,” says Stephen Staudt from our parent company, Theben AG. “This is about long-term support, helping UK electricians grow into the smart building space with confidence.” A Successful Launch Day at the NSBRC We officially opened the doors to Theben Academy with a launch event earlier this month. It was great to welcome a mix of engineers, integrators, college tutors, and a handful of self-builders, all keen to explore what the Academy has to offer. With product demos, informal networking, and insights from our UK and international teams, the day gave guests a real sense of what makes our Academy different: practical training, real-world support, and a clear pathway into higher-value work. “The Academy isn’t about theory for theory’s sake,” explains Paul Foulkes, our UK Country Manager. “It’s about giving electricians what they actually need on site, practical knowledge, real experience, and the confidence to take on smarter jobs.” Why Swindon, and Why the NSBRC? We chose the National Self Build & Renovation Centre because it’s a hub of innovation and learning, an ideal location for connecting with installers, designers, and self-builders. There’s free parking, great transport links, and thousands of trade professionals and homeowners pass through every year. Our training space sits alongside our permanent product stand at the NSBRC, so whether you’re attending a course or just stopping by, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our latest products and systems in a hands-on environment.
