A 4-wire dimmer is used when there is also a neutral conductor (N) in the switch box. The dimmer can then draw its own power directly from the live wire and neutral conductor. This allows it to operate independently of the connected light fitting.

Direct power supply via the neutral conductor enables particularly stable and precise dimming behaviour in many applications.
Can the app versions only be operated via the app?
No, but setting and configuration via the app offers significant convenience. For a single device, commissioning and operation can also be performed without the app, using only the connected push button. However, the app is absolutely necessary for networking multiple devices via Bluetooth Mesh e.g., for control over longer distances or for lighting scenarios.
How big are the flush-mounted heroes?
DIMAX 540 plus B is the smallest of the heroes, measuring just 25.5 x 26.4 x 10.4 mm. The other versions are barely larger at 32.7 x 26.6 x 9.6 mm.

Do new wires need to be run for installation?

Can the existing switch series still be used?
Yes, no special switch series is required. The flush-mount devices can be installed behind any switch series. This saves costs because standard components can also be used. However, push button switches must be used with the dimmers for stepless dimming.
Which lamps can be dimmed and switched?
All lamps can be used completely independently. Optimized settings for LEDs, incandescent and halogen lamps. Dimming is also possible with problematic lamps. The lamps to be dimmed must be labeled as dimmable at the trailing edge.
How does mesh technology work?
Any number of mesh-compatible devices can be integrated into the Bluetooth Mesh network. Communication between devices via Bluetooth enables, for example, dimming of multiple assigned lights or turning off all assigned lights. In the mesh network, each device acts as a node and a scalable repeater. A central control unit is not required; configuration and control are handled via the app.
The mesh network is scalable upward; the more devices are integrated into the network, the more stable it becomes. Being near a device on the Bluetooth network is sufficient to control any device in the home via the app. Mesh technology enables an expandable, stable network without dead zones.

Are the flush-mounted switches noisy when switching?
No, the switches operate silently without a loud “clicking” sound. Quiet operation in living areas and noise-sensitive zones is easily achievable.
Do I need Wi-Fi throughout the house to control the system via the app?
No, the Bluetooth Mesh network is independent of Wi-Fi. All you need is a smartphone with Bluetooth.
What can I do if my lamp flickers?
