Course Description
The KNX Advanced Course is delivered in accordance with KNX Association guidelines and leads to an official KNX Advanced certificate.
A prerequisite for this course is completion of the KNX Basic Course.
This certified course teaches the more complex control and regulation aspects of the KNX bus system. Through a mix of theory and intensive hands-on practice, you’ll focus on:
- In-depth study and review of major topologies using couplers as well as IP routers
- Integration of IP and Ethernet
- Logic circuits at various levels, such as actuators or logic modules
- Wireless technologies in combination with TP topologies
- Security and KNX Secure
- Introduction to visualizations
You will learn all the fundamentals of KNX installation on a wide variety of devices.
The course is taught by highly experienced, long-standing system integrators and instructors who share a wealth of their knowledge with the participants.
Successful participants are awarded a recognised KNX Advanced certificate.
Course Details
Topics covered include:
- Topology – Review and in-depth study
- Working with multiple lines using TP and RF
- Integration of weather stations
- Wind safety for outdoor awnings. Theory and practical exercises
- Logic –
Integration of logic into KNX, starting with the simplest actuator solutions DALI and lighting scenes – DALI is currently the most important lighting bus system and, since the introduction of LED lighting, the go-to dimming technology. This lighting bus system has integrated seamlessly with KNX via gateways from the very beginning, offering cost-effective dimming options.
Lighting scenes provide easy-to-use and convenient lighting control in any living environment. It is possible to integrate switching actuators, dimming actuators, and DALI gateways into these scenes, allowing countless beautiful lighting moods to be easily created.
We teach the basic approach so that the integrator can maintain a clear overview.
All topics are covered both theoretically and through intensive hands-on practice.
